The most important factor in determining how well I’m able to concentrate on my work ahead for the day is, how much sleep I had the previous day, and the quality of that sleep.
I’m really enjoying the design phase of the game I’m currently in. The main thing I have to keep in mind though is, I don’t have that much time to spare. And not only that, the only reason I’m allowing myself this “design phase” is to ease cognitive load in the final development phase and work effectively enough to meet the October deadline.
I do feel it every day that the opportunity to make something of my work and game is slipping, and may not be even there any more, so I have to keep focused and my efforts streamlined.
It’s a bright and fresh Monday morning 08:40 AM. I should really have been working from 07, but I’ve had quite a lot of sleep the last couple days 10+ and 9+ hours, catching up on some dysfunction brought about by extended light levels in late Spring and Early Summer.
Having all that delicious sleep I feel fully charged up and ready to go, for a good Mon – Fri sprint on design. If I average 10+ hours per day, that’s a wonderful 50+ hour dent I can make into it!
